The question is, how reliable are they?  No professional appraiser or reputable real estate agent can give you a proper estimated value of your home without seeing it in person!  Automated computer analyses simply compare your home to others without knowing the specific details of your home and assume that they are all the same. 

I recently checked one of these "eppraisal" websites for my own home.  Wow!  I was impressed.  Without knowing the local market or ever visiting my home, their opinion of value of my home was much more than I know I can sell it for.  In fact, I wish they would buy it from me at the value they say it is worth.  I will sell it tomorrow for that price!

Similar tests, showed results all over the place and convinced me they were unreliable.
